CETC students top of the CIPFA class again

The CIPFA Education and Training Centre (CETC) have triumphed yet again in the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) examinations.

Students who attended CETC courses exceeded the average pass rate in all modules for exams completed in June 2008. CETC's students in the spring represented 41% of all CIPFA's examination candidates and they achieved a formidable 82% pass rate.

The CETC pass rate for individual modules was up to 29% higher than the CIPFA national average. Highlights include:

Particularly high pass rates for CETC students were achieved in the following papers:

  • Certificate level: Financial Reporting - 83% (67% CIPFA average)

  • Certificate level: Financial Management Systems & Techniques - 82% (53% CIPFA average);
  • Diploma level: Public Finance - 90% (74% CIPFA average);
  • Diploma level: Taxation - 81% (60% CIPFA average);
  • Final test level: Finance Management Case Study - 82% (64% CIPFA average);
  • 100% pass rates were achieved by several individual student groups for several modules.

    "Once again CETC students have achieved truly outstanding results in the CIPFA examinations. It is clearer than ever that CETC offers students the best chance to pass the CIPFA exams. We are continually looking for new ways to assist students in their preparation for the exams and this is regularly reflected in the results that they achieve."
