Teaching Strategy
The guiding principles behind CETC’s courses are to help students pass exams and add value to the learning material through face to face tuition. The course content and material will focus on the core part of each syllabus, in particular those areas considered most technically and conceptually demanding. The teaching hours between and within modules will reflect this and a teaching plan will be given at the start of the course to show the breakdown of what will be taught on the course.
It is important that you ensure you are familiar with all areas of the syllabus and that you work through the study guides. Regular reading of CIPFA’s weekly Public Finance magazine is highly desirable for all CIPFA modules, and essential for the FTPC level module Strategic Business Management (SBM) on the PQ.
Tutors
CETC’s tutors are supportive, approachable and knowledgeable. All are professionally qualified and most are accountants and have a wide range of experience in the public sector. Module Leaders
Each module has a module leader who will normally be the focal point for your module-related queries but do feel free to contact a different tutor in a particular module team especially if, through the course, you have had more contact with another tutor. The module leaders are emboldened below.
